Medical Equipment & Supplies

Our expansive network makes it easy to guarantee that injured workers will quickly receive cost-effective, quality and appropriate medical equipment and supplies. We also provide consultation, fittings, cleaning, repairs, training, overnight shipments, no automatic shipments and utilization monitoring.

Home Health

Home health is often a critical component in the recovery process. We provide access to a specially-trained network of home health aides. LPNs and physical, occupational and speech therapists coordinate appointments and alert you to missed appointments.

Orthotics & Prosthetics

Whether an injured worker has a chronic or temporary injury, such as carpal tunnel or has lost a limb, it’s important to offer quality orthotics and prosthetics to improve quality of life. Preferred Medical offers a national network of providers for custom and standard braces, collars, lifelike prosthetics, custom-build artificial limbs and digit replacements. Fittings are done by a certified orthotist or prosthetist.

Electrotherapy

Stimulators and other forms of electrotherapy can offer injured worker pain relief as an alternative to prescription drug therapy. Our electrotherapy offerings include bone growth, galvanic, interferential and muscle stimulators, TENS units, micro-current units and more.

IV & Respiratory Care

Infusion therapy and ongoing respiratory care may be necessary for certain types of injuries. Delivered by registered nurses, Preferred Medical offers respiratory and IV therapy nationwide. Therapy includes pain management, total parenteral and enteral nutrition, tocolytic, bi-level respiratory, anti-infective and hydration. Services also include CPAP/BPAP, liquid oxygen, nebulizers, concentrators and portable gas.

Hearing Loss Services

Hearing loss resulting from an occupational injury may require a comprehensive audiology program, whether seeking an evaluation, device or recommendation from a national network of 6,000 Audiologists. We assign a dedicated care coordinator to help you through the process.

Surgical Implants

Surgical implants are one of the most expensive ancillary costs if not properly controlled. We provide transparent pricing and do not charge administrative, sign-up, set-up or other hidden fees. We ensure turnaround time within 24 to 72 hours on most non-elective cases and 7 to 21 days for elective surgeries.

Diagnostics

Early diagnosis and monitoring of injuries ensures proper treatment to eliminate unnecessary surgeries and reduces the potential for re-injury. Our extensive national network for MRI, CT, EMG, PET, arthrograms and bone scans provide significant savings over non-managed imaging care. We make it easy with scheduling, patient reminders, confirmations, image delivery and fast turnaround times.

Translation & Interpretation

It’s critical that language barriers and interpretation needs do not get in the way of treatment and recovery. We offer translation and interpretation services for more than 200 languages, including sign language, Braille and document translation. Services can be conducted on site, telephonically or via remote video.

Transportation

Every effort is made to ensure injured workers keep a doctor or therapy appointment by making transportation arrangements. We offer fast coordination of ambulatory, taxi, air ambulance and conversion vans.
